Jujutsu

Seika Martial Arts offers instruction in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Classical Jujutsu. Jujutsu is a martial art that has it's origins in Japan. It was developed by the Samurai as a means of immobilizing an attacker while unarmed. At it's essence it is a form of battlefield wresting that implements techniques that redirect force. Due to it's effectiveness, Jujutsu has gained wild popularity and has made it's way around the globe. Classical Japanese Jujutsu is characterized by Throws, Joint Locks, and Choke Holds with an emphasis on standing techniques. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in contrast is much more focused on ground techniques and gaining positional dominance.
